IPL/SHR is for long-term hair reduction, not instant or guaranteed permanent removal. It isn't medical treatment — for darker skin tones we always patch-test first and advise honestly.
Why multiple sessions?
IPL/SHR only treats a hair while it's in its active growth (anagen) phase. At any moment only some of your hairs are growing — the rest are resting or shedding. Spacing sessions a few weeks apart lets each treatment catch a new batch of hairs at the right time, which is why one visit can't do it all.

Skin, the Japanese way
Many women come for skin and hair. The same IPL helps the look of dark spots, redness, dullness and acne marks — you pick one concern per session and we fit the filter matched to it, often in the same visit as hair removal. (On legs, clearing the hair itself also softens the dark-dot look of ‘strawberry skin’.)
IPL sends a gentle, broad-spectrum pulse of light into the skin. It isn’t aimed by hand — instead, the darker and redder spots simply absorb more of it than the skin around them.
Because clear, untanned skin absorbs far less light, the treatment stays gentle while still working on the marks. Suitability depends on your skin tone — we check this and patch-test first, and it works best on untanned skin (avoid sun before & after and wear daily SPF). A gradual cosmetic treatment; individual results vary.

The deeper setting warms the dermis. On the surface, skin often looks smoother and pores less obvious.
Our IPL carries eleven dedicated filters, 430nm to 1200nm. Each one passes a different band of light, so each is suited to a different target — the brown of a sun spot, the red of a surface vessel, the deeper warmth used for firmness. At your skin check you name the concern you want worked on, we fit the single filter matched to it, and the whole session runs on that.

The machine takes one filter at a time — so rather than split a session and dilute both, we give the concern you chose the full visit.
