IPL/SHR is for long-term hair reduction, not instant or guaranteed permanent removal. It isn't medical treatment — for darker skin tones we always patch-test first and advise honestly. “Laser” here means typical clinic hair-removal lasers such as diode; how each feels varies by device and settings.
Why multiple sessions?
IPL only treats a hair while it's in its active growth phase (called anagen). At any moment only some of your hairs are growing — the rest are resting or shedding. Spacing sessions a few weeks apart — usually every 3–4 weeks on the face and 4–8 weeks on the body — lets each treatment catch a new batch of hairs at the right time, which is why one visit can't do it all. Underarms, legs, bikini line or Brazilian: the number of sessions depends on the area and your hair type, so treat the guide below as a starting point.

Skin, the Japanese way
Many women come for skin and hair. The same IPL helps the look of dark spots, sun spots and freckles, pimple (acne) marks, redness and dullness — you pick one concern per session and we fit the filter matched to it, often in the same visit as hair removal. (On legs, clearing the hair itself also softens the dark-dot look of ‘strawberry skin’.)
IPL sends a gentle, broad-spectrum pulse of light into the skin. It isn’t aimed by hand — instead, the darker and redder spots simply absorb more of it than the skin around them.
Because clear, untanned skin absorbs far less light, the treatment stays gentle while still working on the marks. Suitability depends on your skin tone — we check this and patch-test first, and it works best on untanned skin (avoid sun before & after and wear daily SPF). A gradual cosmetic treatment; individual results vary.

Our IPL carries eleven dedicated filters, 430nm to 1200nm. Each one passes a different band of light, so each is suited to a different target — the brown of a sun spot, the red of a surface vessel, the deeper warmth used for firmness. At your skin check you name the concern you want worked on, we fit the single filter matched to it, and the whole session runs on that.
Why not blend two?
The machine takes one filter at a time — so rather than split a session and dilute both, we give the concern you chose the full visit.

Most clients feel only a brief warmth or a light snap — gentler than waxing and generally less painful than laser, with no rip and no downtime. Our SHR mode is built for comfort and we tune the settings to your skin and the area treated.
No — Epimo uses IPL / SHR, not a laser. Since most people search for “laser hair removal,” here's the honest difference: a laser (such as diode or Alexandrite) uses one concentrated wavelength, usually one strong pulse per spot. IPL / SHR uses a broader band of light, and in SHR mode the handpiece glides with rapid, gentle pulses that warm the follicle gradually — most clients find this more comfortable. Both target the pigment in the hair to weaken the follicle, and both take several sessions for long-term reduction. Not sure which suits you? Ask us — we'll tell you honestly.
Yes — these are some of our most-requested areas, and a longer-lasting alternative to a Brazilian wax or shaving. Every session is one-on-one in a private room, with careful draping for intimate areas, and we never photograph your face. We'll talk through what's right for you at your skin check.
Part of the “dark underarm” look is often stubble and hair showing under the skin. As hair is reduced, there's less of that shadow and less shaving, so underarms can look smoother and more even — as in our underarm before & afters. It doesn't change your natural skin colour, and results vary. If the darkness isn't from hair or shaving, a dermatologist is the right person to check it.
Neither IPL nor laser removes hair permanently — both give long-term reduction, and with either one some hair can slowly return over the years. After a course of sessions, most people only need an occasional top-up, and the results can last a very long time. Results vary from person to person.
It can. Ingrown hairs mostly come from shaving and waxing. As regrowth comes back finer and sparser over a course of sessions, you need to shave or wax less — on your underarms, bikini area or legs — which means fewer chances for hairs to grow back under the skin. Results vary by person and area.

On your first visit: ₱500 for one small area, or ₱1,000 for full face or one medium area. Packages of 3, 6 or 12 sessions save 10–30%. An IPL photofacial is ₱2,400 per session.
Most clients notice a change after 2–3 sessions, with more noticeable reduction around session 4–5. Hair grows in cycles, so consistency matters — results vary by person and area.
